01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
For an evening drink, try a house-made lemonade sour with obanzai, Japanese-style prepared side dishes. Some diners say the sweet, easy-to-drink lemonade was worth ordering more than once; others mention enjoying the dashi-seasoned obanzai or salt-braised offal. HOME COFFEE works as a café by day, while its evening menu has the feel of an izakaya, with food and drinks to match. Diners have singled out the three daily obanzai dishes and the salt-braised offal, making it an option both for a light drink and for a meal shared around the table.
At lunchtime, ginger pork, curry, Neapolitan spaghetti and hamburger steak are each 1,000 yen; the Neapolitan is listed with a salad. Choose a rice dish or hamburger steak for a more substantial meal, or a hot sandwich for something lighter. One diner ordered a sandwich filled with egg and prosciutto, while another noted that it arrived piping hot. One lunch paired Neapolitan spaghetti with pumpkin soup, too. The menu makes it easy to put together a proper meal as well as to stop in for a lighter bite.
Afterwards, there is latte or drip coffee. Diners have praised the coffee’s aroma and bitterness, and others have enjoyed a latte or flat white. For something sweet, cheesecake, gâteau au chocolat and tiramisu are each 550 yen. One diner found the cheesecake substantial, with just the right level of sweetness.
Diners have remarked on the airy feel of the large windows, and some have used the counter or box seating. The restaurant is on the 2 floor of a building; one visitor found the stairs steep, so take care underfoot.
